  31. I was told that a setting of S32=0 disables LAPM protocol (which is
  32. some sort of error correction protocol). It apparently does something
  33. good for me since now my modem does not hang up so often. I mentioned
  34. this to USR Support people and they did not come back with any
  35. comments on the setting.
